Luxurious Kingfisher Lodge is surrounded by 8000 hectares of exclusive game-rich land. The Lodges spectacular setting is on the banks of Lake Entabeni. Entabeni Private Game Reserve within the greater Waterberg area.
Accommodation
Eight deluxe rooms feature showers, baths, twin hand basins, extra length beds, electric blankets for winter, overhead fans, fireplaces, mini bars and wooden decks.
The honeymoon suite features an exquisite four-poster bed and Jacuzzi bath. One of the rooms is also paraplegic friendly. Giant shade trees form a green and cool canopy over the lodge. Kingfisher Lodge is a satellite lodge of Lakeside Lodges.
Facilities
Kingfisher Lodges guest area overlooks Lake Entabeni and the spectacular Entabeni mountain. The ambience is fresh and homely with warm styling done by owner Mart Cilliers Entabeni Interiors. An intimate deck above the lake offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and prolific bird life.
The main lounge and dining area with a fireplace ensures enjoyable, relaxed leisure time. The inviting swimming pool, surrounded by lush gardens and lawns is an ideal waterhole for guests to cool off.
Activities
Twice-daily game drives in open game vehicles and guided nature walks on the reserve are included in the rate. The excellent game viewing experience is complemented by other activities such as stargazing, bird watching, a visit to the Pedi cultural village and Eugene Marais museum, horse riding, moonlit boma dinners, picnic lunches at a waterfall and bush sundowners.
Spectacular al fresco dinners in the bush promise to be an unforgettable experience. Our resident beauty therapist is available for all beauty treatments and a curio shop is a short walk away at Lakeside Lodge.
Food
Kingfisher is well renowned for its tranquil setting. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is home made, from early morning tea which includes honey rusks or choc chip cookies to homemade ravioli at lunch and peppermint liqueur souffl?s prepared 'a la minute' for dessert at dinner. All piping hot and straight out of the oven.
Our cuisine at Kingfisher has been skillfully manipulated to meet the dietary needs of our discerning patrons. Lunches are always light with a selection of salads, cheese, home made breads, hot dishes, and homemade cakes or tarts, all prepared with a touch of tender loving care and beautifully laid out for our guests enjoyment.
Dinner is the event of the day allowing our chefs to exhibit modern Africa blended with a classical grounding of European cuisine. The leisurely five-course meal is accompanied by laughter and relaxation.
Our guests have the choice of either a continental or a full English breakfast at the start of each exciting day.
Apart from the signature cuisine on offer at Kingfisher, our skilled Game Rangers will show you the many splendours which Entabeni Game Reserve has to offer.
Access
Kingfisher Lodge is easily accessible for self drive guests by two-wheel drive vehicle. Driving time from Johannesburg is a comfortable three hours and the road from Naboomspruit is in very good condition.
Children
Children are welcome but no triples are offered. Lakeside, Ravineside and Wildside Lodges offer triple and sleeper couches for children.

Mammals: Marakele is home to most of the large mammals synonymous with the African bush, including elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, leopard and cheetah. Large Predators such as cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena, leopard and now also lion, occur in the park.
Birds: Arguably the Park’s biggest birding attraction is the largest colony of Cape Vultures in the world (around 800 breeding pairs). Handy Hints
Remember to bring a camera, binoculars, bird and wildlife reference books, a hat and sunscreen lotion. Take along medicines such as anti-histamine and lotion for insect stings and bites. Cool clothing for summer and warm for winter are advised as the region is subject to sudden weather changes, particularly in the mountains. Remember charcoal or wood as this is not available in the park. Visitors should also remember to take a torch along as the camp has no illumination at night.

Wheelchair Access
Marakele is a wilderness area with limited tourism facilities for everyone. Much of the park requires a 4x4 vehicle. The safari tent camp has 10 units, one of which is accessible to people in wheelchairs, equipped with an access ramp and adapted ablution facilities (roll-in shower). No accessible facilities are available at the Bush Camp. The new reception block comprises of a unisex ablution block for the use of people with mobility impairment. One of the 3 circles at the camping sites is also equipped with access facilities.
